DESCRIPTION
The following list describes the buttons found on the pages of Clinical Management for Behavioral Health Services’ (CMBHS) and how to use them.
CANCEL
- Closes the page without saving any of the data that was typed into the page since the page was last saved.
- If you have never CLICKED ON the save button for that page, all the data you have typed in will be lost.
- After CLICKING ON Cancel you will return to the previous page in the CMBHS workflow sequence.
CLEAR
- Removes any data that has been typed in and not yet saved.
- You will remain on the same page and can begin putting in new data immediately.
CLOSE
- This button is used to close a document after you have viewed or saved it.
- If you CLICK ON this button before you have saved your document, you are at risk of loosing all the information you have typed in.
- Prior to closing a document, CMBHS will display an error message warning you of the consequences of continuing and offering you the opportunity to reverse your choice.

EDIT
- Opens a document so that changes may be made and/or new information added.
NEXT
- This button displays at the bottom of a page to allow the user to move to the next page quickly without going through an edit check process.
PREVIOUS
- Takes you to the page before the one you are on.
- The Previous button does not take you to the page you were working on prior to this one; it takes you to the prior page in the CMBHS workflow sequence.
SAVE
This button is displayed only when a document is in DRAFT or READY FOR REVIEW status. When you pick the Save button, several things will happen:
- Prior to saving the information you have typed in, CMBHS executes a series of edits checks to validate the data.
- If you put invalid data or have neglected to fill one of the required fields, the system displays a message telling you about the error and what you need to do to correct it.
- Once the page is filled out correctly and all the data passes the edit checks, the record is saved and you are returned to the client's document list.
SAVE AND CONTINUE
- This button combines 2 functions, allowing you to save the information you have put into CMBHS and simultaneously move to the next step in the documentation process.
SAVE AND NEW
- This button allows the user to save the information that has been typed into a page and then opens up a new document of the same type.
SAVE AND NEXT
- This button combines 2 functions allowing you to save the information you have put into the system and move to the next step of the process without selecting another command.
VERSION HISTORY
- This button is used to view the history of the document. CLICK ON this button to display all the previous versions and changes to the document.
- It allows you to look at older versions of documents to identify when changes were made and who made them.
VIEW
- This button allows you to view documents and pages that are in the CMBHS system.
- Prior to CLICKING ON this button, you must pick (selecting an item displays as highlighting) an entry in a list such as a client name, a medication or service.
